Robinson Lighthouse park where you can drive down to the beach. Orcas and humpback whales sometimes visit, seals, sea lions, Osprey, Blue Heron, and otter pass by, and there are Bald Eagles perched in the trees. Agates be found on the beach which is lovely for walking. Point Robinson Lighthouse/Park is a 7 minute walk along the road or beach. The 40 acre property has 4 beautifully decorated, private cottages and Bluff House that can be rented simultaneously for weddings, birthdays, reunions or film and photo shoots or photography. (During events the entire property and all the cottages are booked, so don’t worry: there will not be an event going on during your stay unless it is yours!) Please click on my profile photo to see the various accommodations and an overview photo of where they are located on the property. For private events, all the cottages and Bluff House on the 40 acres can be rented so 23 guests can stay overnight, and tent camping is allowed, in addition. Inquire for availability and group pricing. There are unobstructed views of Puget Sound and Mt. Rainier from the bluff, on-site parking, and you can use any vendors you choose for food, music, etc.
The property has been featured in The Seattle Times Pacific Magazine, Country Living Magazine, Sunset books, in catalogs (Cutter & Buck most recently) and in film including Anthony Bordain's "No Reservations" (aired Nov. 19, 2017 on the Pacific Northwest show). Celebrities have chosen to be married on the property - it is truly a stunning place to be! We are very familiar with how to coordinate details of large and small productions and group activities to assure your time here is a success and exactly as you want it to be.
PLEASE NOTE: Summer Saturdays are blocked on the calendar until April 30th to reserve availability for events & weddings.
You might want to bring a bathing suit for the outdoor clawfoot soaking tub if you are planning to use it during the day. There are bubble bath and epsom salts either on the tub or under the bathroom vanity.
The kitchenette consists of toaster oven, microwave, hot plate, crock pot and small refrigerator. There is a propane barbecue outside the loft, another propane bbq at the beach, and a fire pit with wood provided at the Loft and another on the beach (you can collect firewood on the beach).

We have a friendly dog, Saussi, who loves to have his back scratched. He will bark at you when you arrive. Feel free to tell him to "Go", "Sit", "Stay" or "Lie Down". He is usually with us, wherever we are. We also have free range bunnies, chickens and a rooster and ducks that roam about. Our horses are next door. If you are bringing a pet, please BE SURE it is LEASHED at all times, even if you have a tiny pup, to avoid disturbing massacres of free-range animals! If you are considering bringing a large dog, it must be completely controllable on a leash, and not able to bolt and pull the leash out of your hands to pursue fowl/cats/rabbits/people/horses. If no one is at the beach your pup can roam free there, but as soon as a human is in sight please leash again until the coast is clear.
Rural, peaceful, high bank waterfront and forest on 40 acres with spectacular view of Mt.Rainier makes this a special place. We have 3 horses in the barn, a coop with chickens (and a ROOSTER - earplugs provided!). Wildlife abounds. It is a beautiful place for hikes and picnics.
Vashon is a great place to explore on your bike. Rentals are available at Spyder's in the town of Vashon. The nearest bus stop is about 3 miles away. The 118/119 Metro Bus (to Dockton) serves that stop and it is a few miles bike ride from there (busses take bikes). Vashon Shuttle Service transports around the island and to/from SeaTac airport.
Vashon Taxi Service and Uber are SOMETIMES options, but not always! If you need a ride, but call them before you get to the island as they may or may not be available when you need them.
Visit the Vashon Chamber of Commerce, Vashon Events, or Vashon Hub websites for things to do on the island. There are art , garden, solar, farm tours, Strawberry Festival, wineries, breweries, Nashi Orchards and Dragon's Head Cideries, bike rentals, hiking trails, equestrian events, trail rides and riding lessons, fishing, beach combing, picturesque Point Robinson Lighthouse tours, Island Center Forest or Dockton Park Trails for mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking or jogging. Kyaks can be rented at Burton Beach, and the water there and at Dockton Park gets warm and is very swimmable in the summer. Horses can be boarded on our property with the Wildwood studio rental for $75/night, and riding on the beach to the Maury Island Marine Park is exquisite! If you have your own kayaks, they can be easily launched from Pt. Robinson or Burton Beach. We have 2 kayaks that can be rented for paddles in front of the property for $25/pp.
Art Lessons (painting, photography, drawing, ceramics), trail rides, massage, facials and day spa services can be arranged - fees vary.

The 5 acre Cottonwood property was established in 1890 as a farm for growing strawberries, cucumbers and other vegetables and transported to Seattle via mosquito fleet ships. In the early 20th century the ships were replaced by trucks that crossed the water on ferries to and from Seattle. Today, the island is still accessed by ferries that run from Pt. Defiance (Tacoma), Southworth (Kitsap Peninsula) and Fauntleroy (West Seattle).
The Cottonwood Studio (sleeps 2-3) and Cottonwood Farmhouse (sleeps up to 9) may be rented simultaneously for up to 12 guests at a time, and there is camping on the back portion of the 5 acres available if you have a larger groups or event to host.
