Hi there,
I would highly recommend to other people however where we stayed , it was zen cabin 3 . And everyone knows it’s specialties because it has a nice beach view when you look from inside. But th...e main thing was the glass was not clear at all. It has so many marks and dust on it. So you can’t take any photos because of that. Wasn’t really happy with that thing. We specifically went from Auckland just to view it from the dirty glass??? no way
Hope my review reaches out to them.

We stayed in Zen Cabin and it was amazing. Approx a 20 min drive from Gisborne centre, very easy to get to by car.

The check-in / out process was easy and received a warm welcome.

The cabin itself ...was amazing, very clean and comfortable. We managed to see sunrise over the ocean and enjoyed a hot tub in the evening.

Definitely a place to go for relaxation and unwinding, we would definitely be back again!

You couldn’t get anymore beach front than the zen cabins! Absolutely spectacular sunrise views!! Comfy room. Top quality linen and bed! The cabin had everything I needed including a washing machine!! The access to the spa and sauna was an added bonus for sure! I’ll be back!

Wharf Walk By The Sea

At Tolaga Bay, there's a giant wharf that you can walk right out to. When I visited, I could only get out half way because of repairs happening to the wharf but it was still a beautiful view and so close to the cliffs! Even seen some goats hanging 10!

Hiking With Beautiful Views

Awesome hike! Not too difficult and a clear path most of the way. 2.5 hours return with plenty of other beautiful things to see along the way including 'hole in the wall' - there's a heap of stairs but plenty of spots to stop and catch your breath!

Magical Waterfall

Rere Waterfall is absolutely gorgeous. I visited here during autumn and the colours and textures in the water and surrounding trees were magical. Picnic table here too.

Sliding Fast Down A Rock Slide

Rere Rockslide Waterfall is for anyone looking to get their blood pumping! It's a 'try at your own risk' kinda thing and I suggest a wetsuit as well as some socks to help get yourself across the slippery rocks! Something to lay on like a tyre tube (we went to a local tyre company for one) or a board of some sort. I went down several times but didn't escape the slide without a few bruises! She's wild but a good time! And yes... I was absolutely terrified and screamed every time I went down! We set up for a picnic lunch and there are toilets onsite too.
