A Quiet Escape in High Country
Adventure in Kevington, High Country, VIC, AU
Late Friday evening driving through the High Country for a peaceful weekend away, we were blessed with the most magnificent sight of the full moon peeking over the mountains, it took our breath away, the sheer size of the beautiful round object painted in the sky. Once we arrived at the house, we wound down with a hot shower and a great night's sleep, and boy do I mean a great night's sleep. They had the most comfortable beds and it was so nice and quiet. A dream!
We rose early the next day and made pancakes for breakfast and sat outside with the sun warming our backs and a cup of coffee to get us going for the day to come. We decided to walk up to old Kevington, a former mining town. We saw pieces of the old town and what would have been the main strip. Nature has taken it over now and it's lush and green.
Mansfield is only 30 mins away, so we went for a drive to explore. A quaint little town with some beautiful big pubs, perfect for an afternoon pint. We took food home for the BBQ and set off with some wine in hand.
To end our last night, we lit a fire, had some wine and shared stories whilst watching the stars twinkle in the night sky.
