Ocean Views In Olympia
Adventure in Olympia, Greater Seattle, WA, US
It's nice to get away from the city sometimes, especially if you happen to be a work-from-home person and an outdoor adventurer like me. Old Pine was perfect for my solo adventure away and I was in full staycation mode – I felt like I'd never have to leave. From kayaks and paddleboards to an outdoor tub and the PNW-required French press, every detail had been thought out.
The dual-purpose office and meditation room allowed me to find peace while finishing up my emails and completing tasks, with a yoga mat, incense yoga cards and so much more provided. Once I had my moment of peace and relaxation, I could put some great music on the record player and walk out to the view of the ocean. It was every solo vacationer's dream.
The magic didn’t stop when the morning sun appeared and I decided to take the kayak for a spin at high tide. Being able to see the oyster gardens through the clear, glassy water, as well as all the birds and animals, really made the weekend feel complete. This, in addition to various other activities in the area, meant that the time spent in the Old Pine cabin recharged all my depleted batteries.

After grabbing a coffee, a short hike along the beach sounded like the perfect idea and Tolmie State Park delivered. The hikes around Tolmie go in various directions, all with gorgeous views of the islands, and there was plenty of wildlife too. Definitely an essential stop while in the area.
Jessica at Old Pine provides a few amazing flotation devices including a kayak and paddleboard. So of course, I strapped on a life vest, grabbed a paddle and took a short trip out into the Puget Sound. What a perfect opportunity! So grateful for the provided kayaks.
One of my favourite features of this stay is the outdoor bathtub, WITH A VIEW!! Though it was cold outside during my stay, it was so worth it, like a personal-sized hot tub! Fully equipped with essential oils and bubble bath, it was the ultimate way to start the day.
I love me a coffee and pastry when on an adventure! The green-eggs-and-ham croissant was the go-to that day, along with a caramel macchiato for my adventure energy boost.
The tiniest taproom I have ever seen, but the biggest flavours. Yes, I left with a bottle because I had to! This little tasting room is great for cider lovers. The flight was huge, so thank goodness there were food trucks around with amazing food. The friendly atmosphere and amazing cider were just what I wanted to finish off the day.
While in town for lunch and drinks, I decided to stop for a walk through the Capital of Washington State. The building is open to the public and full of beautiful marble and chandeliers. It's a quick stop, but pretty cool if you're interested in Washington State's history.
