Relaxing Retreat Near the Mountains of Leavenworth
Adventure in Leavenworth, Central Washington, WA, US
Drive a little over two hours from Seattle and you’ll arrive in a one-of-a-kind, German-themed mountain town known as Leavenworth. This peaceful cabin retreat is on its outskirts, nestled in the wilderness roughly 20 minutes from town.
The cabin itself is a spacious log-cabin home, which is conveniently located right off the main highway yet still feels like a wilderness experience, thanks to the surrounding trees and mountains. There are many amenities, but my favourite feature was the beautiful soaking tub, which is sure to relax the mind after a long day of sightseeing. Bring the whole crew as the house has space to fit eight or more people comfortably, while games, a fireplace, and a full kitchen are provided for your convenience.
A long-time favourite for many, Leavenworth is an experience in itself with many recreational activities including skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. Hiking, biking, and climbing are popular activities during the summer months, and if you do visit during the warmer season, you must see the majestic Enchantments. You'll see that it was winter conditions during my stay, but fortunately Leavenworth is a place that offers beauty scenery all year round. There are plenty of things to do in town, such as visiting the many local dining establishments and strolling through the town to appreciate the unique European architecture.
Though I visited between seasons, I greatly enjoyed the nearby Wenatchee Lake where, if you go early in the morning, you can see gorgeous views before it gets too crowded. Take a short hike around the lake’s edge, and if you're lucky, you'll catch it with ethereal fog in the morning!

I enjoyed wandering around the beach area and a gorgeous 2-mile hike. The park itself offers four different hikes.

Great for an early morning coffee and feed. A must when you are in town!
Explore the European-style architecture and stores, and take in the sights of Leavenworth.
