We headed down the coast in the early afternoon and were instantly taken by the incredible views upon arriving at Kinoie. As we walked up the winding staircase, we were met with a view of the entire coast, all the way up to the hills on the horizon. We sat on the balcony, overlooking an incredible view of the ocean, and drank wine and ate cheese while making friends with the local cockatoo perched in the birdbath.

After settling in, we went into town to eat at Loosie’s Diner – a vintage-inspired restaurant serving classic burgers and cocktails – then returned to Kinoie, where we watched the coast slowly light up as the sun set over the ocean. In the morning, we made breakfast and headed into Mornington to explore the local op shops and vintage markets. Then we drove to Moorooduc Estate – a beautiful old winery just outside of town – to sample the local wines. We were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the resident peacock, and even befriended the winery dog, Jake.

Our final day saw us packing up and heading into Mornington again. We ate a picnic breakfast by the cliffs at Marina Cove, then travelled back up the coast to Melbourne.
