Driving along Mountain Loop Highway, leaving the last main city of Granite Falls, the dense forest envelops you as you get closer to the cabin. The inside of the cabin is beautifully cozy and has everything you need to unwind for a few days, with a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom boasting a washer and dryer for when your outdoor adventures require a quick gear wash. The back door opens up to a fenced, private yard with a fire pit and BBQ, as well as a hot tub. Down towards the Stillaguamish River, you'll find a second, covered fire pit along with access to the water.
Hiking trails and adventures abound, this cabin is the perfect base for exploring the areas off of Mountain Loop Highway. We checked out a couple of the local trails; both only a five-minute drive away. When the rain picked up, we took cover inside with a puzzle and baked cinnamon buns, enjoying the heat of the covered fire pit. We even spent some time in the hot tub as the light rain fell around us.
Whether you’re planning to stay at the cabin for a couple of days, or to use it as a base to check out the nearby trails, the space has you covered. And if you have a dog? Perfect – this cabin is dog friendly and a lovely place to take your canine companion.
The Mountain Loop Highway will take you to the Lake 22 trailhead. This 5-mile hike can be accessed most of the year and takes you from the lush, green rainforest near the trailhead up to a beautiful alpine lake under the mountains. No matter the season or weather, the views are always picturesque. Snag a Northwest Forest Pass, or have your America the Beautiful Pass handy for parking!
The Mountain Loop Highway will take you to the rustic sign signalling the start of the Robe Canyon Historic Trail. Park on the shoulder and start your adventure, walking downhill towards the Stillaguamish River and Robe Canyon. You'll enjoy amazing views of the canyon and abandoned railway project.
The covered fire pits are amazing and can be used no matter what the weather throws at you! There's one near the cabin and one near the rive, both of which are perfect places to sip your morning coffee or enjoy your favourite bevy.
Tucked away underneath one of the mossy trees, and surrounded by twinkling lights in the evening, the hot tub is a picture-perfect place to unwind after a day of adventuring.
Walk a few steps from the cabin and you’ll gain access to the Stillaguamish River. Enjoy serene views, the fire pit and the calming sound of the flowing water. In warmer weather, it's a great spot to hop in for a swim or tube!
