A Classic PNW Getaway

Only an hour away from Seattle, this cozy little A-frame is perfect for a weekend getaway, stocked with all the essentials so you can kick back and relax from the minute you arrive.

Choose between putting your feet up and watching some movies on the couch, or stepping outside to relax in your own private backyard around a large fire pit. The property is surrounded by a beautiful forest, and if you're feeling adventurous, there are some wonderful nature trails just minutes from the cabin. Expect stunning views of the river and waterfalls, or jump onto Mountain Loop Highway for a nice, scenic drive featuring those classic Pacific Northwest views.

Mountain Loop Highway is always a beautiful drive. It will take you past many stunning views of the surrounding mountain ranges and to some very popular hikes such as Lake 22.

This road is closed through the winter months but most of the roads and trails are still accessible year-round. We were a little early, so the road was still closed, but we were able to walk down and enjoy it at a much slower, more relaxing pace.

Just after the Gothic Basin Trailhead, the road does turn into gravel, which has potholes and can get a little bumpy. If you plan on going past this point, I'd recommend having an SUV to make the drive more enjoyable.

Be sure to stop here for a quick bite or refreshing drink on the way back from your drive through the mountains. The staff are super friendly and the food is fantastic!

If you're looking to just get out and take a quick walk in nature, I definitely recommend checking out the many short trails in the area. We went to the Granite Falls Fish Ladder Trail and enjoyed epic views of the river and surrounding forest.
