Valley Views
Adventure in Kangaroo Valley, South Coast, NSW, AU
Equanimity is situated in arguably one of the best spots in Kangaroo Valley. We started to feel relaxed as soon as we arrived, listening to the sound of a crackling fire and the river running just metres away.
The interior is beautifully modern but still has a cosy cabin feel with a large timber deck and private stairway to the river. It was a little chilly while we were there, so we didn't swim, but I'd love to go back on a summer's day and spend my time on the riverbank.
In the morning, we were greeted by Kangaroo Valley's signature, low-lying fog, which made for some ethereal scenery. Once the sun popped through we went into town and grabbed some breakfast at The General Cafe, which was very charming and welcoming, like all the shops in the area. The food was mind-blowingly good for such a rural area, but if you don't want to leave the house, you could easily spend your time cooking in the beautiful kitchen or firing up the barbecue on the deck.
Seeing as the weather was so nice, we grabbed some push bikes and rode around the valley, taking in all the mountains, creeks and farm animals along the way. Once we were all exhausted, we hit the local pub for lunch and then relaxed for the rest of the evening by the fire.
The best part about staying at Equanimity is you can go for an adventurous weekend or just get off the grid and completely unwind. Take your pick!

Things We Did
- Bike
- Town
- Café
Go as far as you want, because you will never get sick of the views. We rode for about 20 kilometres through some pristine farmland and lush forest areas.
The town is full of quaint shops and beautiful cafes. You could easily spend a few hours here.

If you're after a good breakfast, check out the General Cafe. Some really interesting options, but I couldn't go past the French toast!
