Hummingbird Hill Haven
Adventure in Naches, Central Washington, WA, US
Tucked away on a hill surrounded by trees and ranches, the Hummingbird Hill Cabin has to be one of the best places to rest, relax and unwind, reconnect with nature and simply be present in the moment with yourself, your loved ones and friends and little things around you.
Though only 40 minutes outside the city of Yakima, the spacious cabin feels really remote and is perfect for large family getaway. One of the coolest features is that the balcony goes all the way around the cabin, and about half of it is covered with a solid window canopy, so you can enjoy the outdoor space protected from the rain or the sun. There are also multiple entrances to the cabin, meaning you can go in and out from any corner of the cabin. The unique design will have you spending lots of time wanting to be inside and outside all at once.
After spending the day out and about hiking, relaxing, napping or simply walking around the area enjoying the nature, you can treat yourself to a movie or... you can treat yourself to a Blu-Ray 3D movie experience with plenty of movies to choose from!
Of course the Hummingbird Hill Cabin would not be complete without the several hummingbird feeders hanging across the balcony. You will be certain that with some time, patience and statuesque stillness, you'll be able to spot the various hummingbirds coming in for a drink. It's quite the experience!

Take the regular route or take the scenic route. If you're a fan of epic scenic views, I highly recommend you take the Yakima River Canyon road that starts in Ellensburg and leads you back to Hwy I-90 towards the city of Yakima.
You'll experience amazing views of the canyons that have been carved out by the Yakima River. There are a handful of turnouts and parks, where you can pull out and enjoy the view or stop for a picnic. About a quarter of the way through, you can stop by the popular Umtanum Creek Recreational Site and walk across the suspension bridge.

Edgar Rock Viewpoint is a moderate hike that takes about 2 hours to complete roundtrip. I experienced some of the regenerative growth happening after last summer's fires burned a good portion of the forest.
It's recommended to go as early as possible because the parking area is limited to only 3–4 cars. You can be certain that at some point you will cross paths with the deer that make their way up and down the mountain.

The Wood Shed Restaurant & Lounge is the only restaurant in the small town of Nile. They have a fairly large menu that includes appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches and hamburgers, entrees, and various drinks.
Be sure to try their house-made 'woodchips', which are fried potato chips tossed and seasoned with aioli. I was a big fan of them as they were a mixture of eating a French fry and a potato chip. I recommend substituting them for your regular fries or adding them to your salad order – you won't be disappointed.
