Seabirds on the Ocean Breeze

We pulled up in the afternoon to this charming, rustic A-frame, a place that feels like a time-capsule from the 70s. We were welcomed by a warm, wooden interior along with quirky tile floors and orange and floral decor. After settling in, we walked to grab some food from a dive bar then caught a beautiful sunset from the nearby beach.

The next morning, we had mimosas and a home-cooked breakfast before revisiting the beach to sit in the sun and enjoy the views. Afterwards, we went to rent kayaks at Siltcoos Lake Resort, but unfortunately it wasn't yet open for the season. A bit disappointed, but willing to be flexible, we spent the day in search of pretty sand dune views and managed to get the old Subaru stuck in the sand. As evening rolled around, we felt we had earned a nice dinner at The Waterfront Depot and, after filling our bellies, we took a walk around Historic Downtown Florence then headed out to Heceta Beach, where we could see Heceta Head Lighthouse gleaming in the evening light.

We got coffee at River Roasters after checking out the next morning, then headed to local dive Beachcombers for lunch. On the way back home, we hit Sweet Creek Falls, a beautiful hike in lush Oregon forest. We packed a lot into just a few days at Anchor's A-way and made some beautiful, hilarious memories along the way.
