Cozy Wine Wagon in the Woods
Adventure in Sherwood, Portland Region, OR, US
Sometimes the best places are hidden just under our noses.
Sherwood is just a 30-minute drive from downtown Portland and has proven itself a quaint and cozy city. From local shops in Old Town to scenic trails in the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge, it really has something for everyone. It also has has quick access to some of the best wineries that Oregon has to offer, with Willamette Valley hosting many awards and being recognized as one of the premier pinot-noir-producing regions in the world.
The Wine Wagon is nestled away in the hills of Sherwood, providing the perfect escape for you and that special someone. This space provides wonderful intimacy while also giving space, with plenty of indoor and outdoor areas to share. The kitchen had plenty of space to set up a computer with fast Wi-Fi, allowing us to quickly wrap up some last-minute work when we arrived. The bathroom was small but had more than enough to get ready in, while the outdoor shower actually gave wonderful privacy along with the scent of pine trees, washing all my work stress away.
This tiny home is a great place to come when you want to see the sights but also enjoy the perfect silence at the end of a long day of wine tastings. It's truly a place you have to experience to believe.

Things We Did
- Winery
- Pub
- Wildlife
We met up with some friends in the area and enjoyed a large wine flight with charcuterie, alongside views and architecture that made us feel as if we were in Tuscany!
We enjoyed bar hopping inside the old McMenamins Hotel. Going from a secret bar, to rooftop bar, to underground bar, there was never a lack of interesting artwork to enjoy.
With miles of hiking trails, Sherwood is perfect for spotting all kinds of critters, from red-winged blackbirds to sleeping nutria and small bunnies.
