Escape to Forest Island

Escape the bustle of the city at Forest Island, right on the edge of Mt Hood National Forest. It was the perfect glamping experience in a small yurt complete with a queen bed for added comfort. The baby goats and glorious flowers filled most of our spare time, though we did take advantage of the recently reopened Highway 224 to check out the landscape’s recovery after recent wildfires, stopping at McIver State Park for fantastic views of Mt Hood. We found a spot in the park to wander in the woods and enjoy our tea from The Grind Coffee House. Very much looking forward to another stay in the yurt, and exploring what else Estacada has to offer.

A cute little coffee shop and cafe, conveniently located right off the 224, serving wonderful spiced chai teas and yummy snacks. There are also several breakfast options, which are perfect to-go meals before any planned morning adventures.
