If I had to pick one word to define our stay at Gathering Shores, it would be relaxation. After a week of workday grind, my little family needed time to connect with nature somewhere within a short drive from home.
There are so many places for Melburnians to wind down and relax along the bay, and further south, on the Mornington Peninsula, we discovered a spacious place that was welcoming and cosy with a pillow menu that blew our minds; yes, a pillow menu for those of us who have quirky ways to meet Morpheus every night.
After a long, restful night, our day was all about cooking, playing, and enjoying ourselves in the outdoor bath. It was everything we needed after a long week of work. Just before heading back home, we could see the dramatic sky forming an epic sunset. We drove quickly to capture some timeless memories before the sun showed up on the horizon. A short escape to nature in Mornington Peninsula is always a 10/10 – we highly recommend it!
Diggers Garden is a beautiful local gem. It has a plant shop with a huge number of options for those who love green vibes in the backyard or interior design. Our walk through the garden had us experiencing a connection with nature, checking out the old-school architecture, and enjoying a break at the delicious cafe.
