Sunstone Retreat truly embodies that little sweet spot on the Venn Diagram where modern luxury and intrinsic comfort briefly overlap in the coziest bit of natural harmony. This accommodation is by far the largest we've ever stayed in (it's massive!), but instead of feeling cavernous, it was the ultimate palace of peace that exuded that hard to find "home away from home" feel. The 10+ acres of private land create an unbelievable buffer and backdrop with spectacular views that offer a front-row seat to the Three Sisters and Mt Bachelor. And did I mention that there is a private pond with a dock and paddleboat?! There simply is no better to way to rest and reset than a couple days at the inimitable Sunstone Retreat.

One of the most dynamic and spectacular displays of nature imaginable, Sparks Lake is well worth the one-hour drive from Bend. Mountain reflections and abundant wildlife make this alpine paradise not only a local favorite, but also a world-famous attraction for photographers and natural enthusiasts around the world. Just go.
Known for some of the best rock climbing in the world, there is no better time to experience Smith Rock than as the sun rises. Brilliant golden light explodes on the inner faces and walls, creating an absolute oil painting as the Crooked River winds it way down below.
