Family Adventures in the Country
Adventure in Ellensburg, Central Washington, WA, US
This beautiful farmhouse boasts gorgeous views and is surrounded by endless adventures. Ellensburg has more to offer than meets the eye, with beautiful hiking trails and lakes within an hour's drive and a wonderful farmers market during the summer months. You can see the beautiful landscape and sunset from almost any room in the house and my family enjoyed playing games, reading books, playing basketball on the blacktop, and playing in the backyard. We explored the garden and discovered strawberries! My girls loved that.
We went climbing about 45 minutes away and hiked to the top of Red Top Lookout. There is so much to do, but I think we also would have been just as happy being at the beautiful house. The house was extremely family friendly and set up beautifully to have multiple families come and stay.

Frenchman Coulee is an extremely neat climbing experience. There are routes for beginners right through to advanced, and it's rarely busy. We enjoy climbing here with our girls and our youngest, who is three years old, just completed her first climb! It is very family friendly and a really fun environment. Make sure you bring water and snacks!
The Farmers Market in Ellensburg did NOT disappoint. Beautiful ceramics, great food, wonderful produce and extremely nice people.
The Red Pickle was a really fun environment! The food and drinks were amazing and we actually ended up staying later and chatting with a family we met there. Order "The Messy" – it will not disappoint!
This is more of a walk than a hike. Our three year old did it by herself :) It is steep, but short! The views are breathtaking. Make sure and take bug spray. The mosquitos were biting when we were there with all of the rain we have had.
We went to The Porch after we visited the farmers market. It's just a few blocks away and they weren't busy. Best of all, the food was so good!
