A Whimsical Warburton Winter

On a cold winter's day, we arrived at the warm and inviting Margate Cottage. We were instantly in awe of all of the intriguing decor, the vintage furniture, the quirky wall art and the abundance of colour, all of which exude a bohemian charm. It didn't take us long to settle into the homely atmosphere with a warm cup of delicious, organic chai that we enjoyed by the fireplace.

We spent the following day exploring the wonders of Warburton in winter. After enjoying breakfast on the verandah admiring the mountain views, we headed to the famous Warburton Redwood Forest and experienced the ethereal beauty of the towering sequoias. We then walked among the myrtle beech and mountain ash at Rainforest Gallery, taking in the fresh air and natural, pristine beauty all around us. As sunset approached, we drove through the clouds to reach the summit of Mount Donna Buang, then returned to the cottage to spend a night being cosy, playing board games and enjoying some wine.

The next morning, as we woke to birdsong and the view of the sunrise through our window, we simply didn't want to say goodbye. Still, we took a stunning drive through the lush Black Spur, stopping by Nancy’s of the Valley in Yarra Junction, where we enjoyed a delicious brunch made from organic and local produce.

Margate is a beautifully curated cottage located in an area with an abundance of adventures. It is a magical place to stay, whether you're with the whole family, a group of friends or your partner.
