Caught in a Fairy Tale

My adventure pal Robyn and I took the fairy garden stairway to the front door of what could only be described as, the door of enlightenment. The entire house was made from hay, and chicken wire with a rendered finish - all hand-created with sweeping doorway curves and stained colored glass circles. She was glowing, and so were we!

The house designer, Sioux lives in the upstairs space of the grand design while we were staying downstairs with our own private garden and entrance. The open-plan abode welcomed us warmly. Loads of art filled the walls with a large window looking out towards the garden. Plenty of birds took full advantage of the beautiful autumn day we were having. The light danced through the colored circle glass making colourful spots on the white walls and doors. We spent a fair while sitting still, playing guitar, and drinking tea in the sunshine.

We woke with the sun and while Robyn made breakfast, I showered. The shampoos in the shower smelt of botanical goodness and the shower pressure was just right. We made our way to Sioux art studio where we spent the next 3 hours meditating and painting. We were taught all kinds of tricks of the trade while we sipped our chai tea and listened to the fire crackling away. It was such a wholesome experience. We left the studio that afternoon with our artwork feeling like the true goddesses we are. Sometimes you need those reminders in life, and this art workshop was ours.

We spent the afternoon wandering the township of Warburton and taking in the moments along the river walk. We stopped halfway for a warm frothy coffee and some baked goods - because they looked way too good in the window to just walk away from! It was an experience that had to be experienced!

Just a hop, skip, and jump away was the lolly shop so of course we stopped off there too! The colours of the autumn leaves and crisp afternoon air reminded us to rug and prepare to make our way for an early tea. We shared a platter of Southern Indian Food at the beautiful ‘Babajis Kerala Kitchen’ Restaurant. It was absolutely delight-FULL and we had the best mulled wine that we have ever had! We sat by the fire and sipped our night away. It was that kinda cosy up, chillaxin’ kinda night for us!

The next morning, Robyn and I parted ways and I took myself to check out the famous Redwoods Forrest. I danced among the giants that day my friends! What a sight! This time in Wonderland flew quicker than Peter Pan, and what a magical journey it was.

Located on the property is an art studio created by Sioux. Robyn and I attended her 3-hour healing workshop that gave us such inner goddess strength. We walked away feeling so sure of ourselves and oh so relaxed. The outrageously talented Sioux began the class with some meditation and then we began painting our masterpieces! Along the way, Sioux taught us different art techniques and guided us if needed. We sipped chai tea and finished the class off with some homemade crumble created by the Sioux herself! So delicious.

This workshop does come with an extra fee although we highly recommend giving this art healing workshop if you are looking for a relaxing, calm experience. We loved every minute of it, and it was such a loving gift to give to one's self. We even got to take home our canvas creations too!

Such a beautiful town especially during the time we visited in autumn! We walked along loop of the Yarra River and stopped off at a cafe and the famous Warburton lolly shop! Loved seeing all the beautiful artworks along the street as well as checking out the op shops!

We heard such good things from the locals about the South India Restaurant ‘Babajis Kerala Kitchen’ in the Main St of Warburton. And those recommendations didn't disappoint. It was absolutely delightFULL and a must try experience my friends! We got a shared platter which included several different types of curries so we could taste them all! We finished our evening with some incredible mulled wine by the fire. Beautifully designed inside too, and Campfire curry night in Friday night if you want to try a different dining experience.

Such giants! The redwood forest is a lovely spot to have a picnic and appreciate trees for all that they are! Heaps of parking space. Easy walking.
