It's just a quick, 30-minute ferry ride from Seattle to arrive on Vashon Island. The island is an experience in itself, a wonderful blend of unique local dining and farm culture mixed with an eclectic, artsy community. It was almost like we were transported to an English village, which is actually how I'd describe the accommodation – a modern style of farmhouse filled with vintage charm.

Exploring the beautiful property was one of my favorite things about the stay and it was only a 15-minute walk to the beach and Point Robinson Lighthouse. Flowers were also in bloom around the property, which made it extra special.

It was raining during our stay but we enjoyed exploring the local shops and eating everything along the way. Be sure to visit Vashon Farmers Market, which runs on Saturdays from 10–2. You'll meet local vendors, enjoy delicious food and be able to check out all the organic offerings. I also recommend having coffee at food truck called Anchor, and a deliciously healthy takeout dinner from Earthen Bistro. Once you're done, stroll the downtown area to find quaint local shopping.

Overall, I would highly recommend visiting this property on Vashon and recommend leaving plenty of time to explore everything. It was a pleasant surprise of a place!
