Blown Away on Chumstick Mountain
Adventure in Leavenworth, Central Washington, WA, US
Dirt roads, beautiful peaks, and breakfast served at daybreak makes for quite the adventure. Sitting at the top of a long, dirt road overlooking the Enchantments and endless Cascade peaks, the Argonaut tent has everything you need for relaxation with a little bit of exploration. Henry (my dog) and I got to explore the endless trails and wilderness around the tent for miles on miles. Chumstick Mountain is home to so many wild animals and a family of hawks lives right near the Argonaut tent – be careful you're not scooped up!
There's really no need to leave the White Aspen property, given the on-site access to trails and mountain peaks. However, the stay was made complete by a day spent exploring Leavenworth, grabbing some local sausages and ice cream. Ending the day with a campfire and s'mores, along with good puppy cuddles, made the trip feel less like camping and more like a relaxing, albeit dirt-filled, visit to the spa....

Typically when visiting Leavenworth this is the spot to end an incredible FLOAT! But this time around it was the perfect place for a stroll with the dogs and a walk in the water to cool off. The waterfront park is located right under the Main Street along the river and is where MANY like to hop on inner tubes or swim in the river coves. A well-shaded mini hike is everything on a hot summer day....
The Old Pipeline Trail was a great hike on our way out of Leavenworth. Though I'm not a climber, you can find bouldering spots all around this hike, and at the end there claims to be some great spots for it! I saw many bouldering adventurers headed that way. But the trail starts by crossing an old bridge and heading towards a mini (very mini) waterfall. Great hike for families and when you need to take it easy....
