Cozy Creekside Cottage Escape

We arrived to our escape after driving through miles of beautiful forested highway, and the photos don't do it justice. The inside of the cottage was cozy, smelling of freshly cut wood, and we spent that first evening just enjoying the cabin and making ourselves at home.

We grilled steak and balsamic veggies on the grill, planned our adventures for the day ahead, and listened to the peaceful sounds of the crickets and the creek. We began our first full day enjoying French press coffee on the cottage's porch, breathing in the fresh, cool air and the calm energy of the cabin. Then it was off for our first adventure at Washburne Cafe, followed by an afternoon swim in the McKenzie River, dinner at Fins Drive-In, and an evening spent swinging in the hammock, making smore's and stargazing.

We said our goodbyes to the cabin on our final day, but still managed to sneak in a couple more adventures – Honey Paddle Farms for flower picking, and Mount Pisgah Arboretum for a nature walk.

We knew we wanted to take a dip in the gorgeous Mckenzie River, so we found a gorgeous park just down the road with the perfect little swimming hole.

Another iconic location we wanted to pop by was Fins Drive-In, a long-standing classic in Springfield. It's popular for a good reason – try their fresh fruit milkshakes and incredible burgers.

Off the McKenzie River Highway is the beautiful organic flower farm Honey Paddle. They grow their own patches of stunning flowers, which you can pick, of course have fresh honey too!
