Cozy & Secluded Home Away from Home
Adventure in North Bend, Greater Seattle, WA, US
Driving into the Wilderness Rim area of North Bend, you immediately notice the shift from the city vibes of Seattle to those of a little forested reserve near Rattlesnake Mountain. The accommodation is a cute little house on the outside, but transforms into a cozy cedar cabin inside. The backyard is spacious, boasting a lovely patio, barbecue, fire pit and hammock, and also made for a wonderful play area for our dog. If outdoor adventures are your jam, this place is central to anything an outdoor enthusiast could ever want! There is also a large selection of board games and books for rainy days or when you want to relax indoors. The kitchen is fully stocked, and laundry is available on site.
After settling in, we went out the back gate of the property, which put us on a trail system to Rattlesnake Lake. A lovely dip in the cold water was the perfect relief for a hot summer day! When we returned, we made dinner in the lovely galley kitchen and enjoyed our meal outside on the patio.
The following day, we got up early to take a hike at Kendall Katwalk, which is part of the Pacific Crest Trail, though it was tough to choose a hike as there were endless options within a 30-minute drive. Afterwards, we stopped at the highly recommended Scott's Dairy Freeze for the most incredible milkshakes and delicious burgers. We spent the afternoon in the hammock in the backyard, and lounged around outside. The fire pit area was great for relaxing, socializing and having snacks, while our dog played with one of his toys nearby.
We checked out Vintage Baristas for coffee and a quick snack in the morning. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming – the perfect way to finish up our escape. All in all, this property was an incredible home base for adventuring nearby, and felt like it was hours away from the city despite being only 30 minutes from Seattle. It really was the perfect place to reconnect with the outdoors!...
