Woodsy Treehouse Adventure

The drive to the Romantic Wilderness Tree House had us feeling like we'd stepped into a storybook. There were so many rabbits, deer, and birds out along the roads, and Mt Adams came into view several times as the sun was setting – it felt so serene. The tree house was even larger than I'd thought it would be and I felt like a kid going to a sleepover; just in a larger, more comfortable play house.

The house was extremely cozy, with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. There's no WiFi, so we felt truly unplugged and connected with each other and nature. On our first night, I popped on a Ray Charles CD and we grilled steaks on the porch before hopping in the private hot tub to relax the night away.

We spent the next day exploring Columbia Gorge, and bouncing between White Salmon and Hood River. There are so many gorgeous view points, and places to eat and drink, and we felt like we almost had too many options – always a good thing!

The drive here alone was insanely beautiful, and it's very close to White Salmon & Hood River! The narrow, winding road from the main highway is short, but very whimsical, and once you're at the top, you'll have 360-degree views of the landscape including the Columbia River at the bottom. Beware of the wind!

This park is nicely shaded with old-growth trees, perfect for an afternoon walk with some tennis – be sure to bring your water! This park is dog friendly as well.

This was easily the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Make sure you get the chipotle sauce! The vibes were really good and there's both indoor and outdoor seating.
