A Modern Sanctuary

While some places focus on a modern aesthetic, and others provide you with a tranquil experience, Tahtra House gives you both. Situated in Barrington Tops, this beautifully designed house has everything you need for a quiet getaway or a jam-packed adventure. My friends and I definitely took advantage of everything the property had to offer.

Tathra House has been built in a lush rainforest, so it can be icy cold here, but that didn't stop us from jumping in the pool each morning and running back inside to warm up by the fire. The house is completely open plan, so the fireplace warms up all the rooms instantly!

There are several really beautiful trails surrounding the property, which are perfect for short morning walks or full-day hikes. We took the 4WD track out to a trailhead that eventually led us to one of the most picturesque swimming holes I've ever seen. The water was freezing, but beautifully refreshing in the spring sun, so we were all making the most of it.

For some reason, all the wildlife here is super friendly, so don't be surprised if you have wallabies wanting to join you for lunch or cute little birds fly down and land on your arm. Just make sure you have your camera with you at all times.
