As you pull into The Dogtrot House, you are instantly taken by the unique architecture, and how well it complements the natural world around it. After our first coffee of the day on the extended balcony, we set out on the first morning of our weekend to the High Country Gardens to enjoy another coffee and explore all that it offers. It took me longer than expected to get around the mega maze, and with beautiful gardens to explore, it was a perfect place to take photos, be inspired by art and enjoy the smells of spring.

We made our way to Goughs Bay to take a walk and almost fall into a meditative state listening to the calm waves gently brushing the shorelines.

Dinner at the property was made easy with a fully equipped modern kitchen, and while the others cooked up a storm, I headed down to the dam to chuck a line in and fish, and take the kayak out for a leisurely cruise.

We finished the night off swapping stories in front of the outdoor fire, which was the perfect ending to a perfect weekend. Thank you Dogtrot House for the luxury nature stay!
