Only a little over an hour's drive from Melbourne, Tanglewood sits atop green rolling hills surrounded by native trees. It was the escape to nature we were looking for. The Gaudí inspired interior soon had us moving freely within the space, settling into board games by the fire on our first night.

We woke up feeling fresh for a day of activities. We didn’t have to go far. The Rokeby to Crossover Rail Trail is within walking distance, which passes through lush forest to the historic Crossover Bridge. We were ready for a treat, so we headed to Wild Dog Winery to taste the local wine.

Having explored plenty of the surrounding West Gippsland area, we took in the peace and quiet of Tanglewood, before one final stop at the art studio of Kerrie Warren. She welcomed us into her beautiful gallery that shows off her huge splatter art pieces. Capping off a weekend well spent.
