Love at Larnook
Adventure in Bass, Phillip Island, VIC, AU
We arrived at Larnook on a chilly, foggy evening in the Hills and settled into this cosy, off grid hideaway in no time. We spent the first night listening to the soothing sounds of the rain, while watching the raindrops fall down the window right next to our incredibly comfortable bed. Safe to say it was instant relaxation!
The following day was spent enjoying the comforts of Larnook - relaxing and enjoying a cup of coffee while reading, rugging up in our robes, drinking hot chocolate and enjoying the gas log fireplace. Once the weather cleared a bit, we sat on our own private deck and enjoyed some wine. We marvelled at the breathtaking, uninterrupted view while listening to birdsong.
In the evening we lit the fire pit which we enjoyed with a platter of nibbles. We felt as if we were in our own private paradise with the spectacular view all around us. As it became dark, the lights in the distance began to twinkle which was a mesmerising sight. I enjoyed the warmth of the outdoor shower while watching the skyline - definitely a recommended experience at Larnook!
The next morning, we headed out to explore just a handful of the scenic spots nearby. We enjoyed hiking Lyrebird Walk and Sherbrooke Falls and exploring the gorgeous colours of George Tindale Gardens. After all that adventure we grabbed a bite to eat at Kallista Tea Rooms while being entertained by the cockatoos through the window.
If you're looking for a place to unwind, reset, breathe and take in your surroundings - Larnook is the place for you. It's the perfect base to explore the beautiful Dandenong Ranges, however we would not blame you if you just decided to stay in!
