Kangaroo-valley living up to its name
Adventure in Kangaroo Valley, South Coast, NSW, AU
We rode through the front gates of the Kangaroo Valley Golf Resort, catching our breath to smell the fresh cut grass. Our eyes feasted over the expansive lush grounds as we made our way to the Timber Cabin.
We dropped our bags inside and quickly slid open the doors to embrace the beautiful view of the course going up to the valley walls. As our arrival was a little later, we were enjoying the KV roads leading up to checking in. We decided to start a BBQ and relax for the night, enjoying a wine as the sun set, then hitting the hay early for some much needed rest.
The next morning, feeling rejuvenated and ready for the day, we had a coffee on the porch and watched a mob of kangaroos hop past the front lawn and graze on the grass under their feet. We decided to go and find a water hole for a swim and to spend some time in the sun. We found a peaceful spot called Jump Rock, located 45 minutes from the cabin. With no one around, we had the slowness we needed to bathe and really unplug from the world.
We rode the stunning winding canyon roads home and picked up a pizza from Terra and Mare, a lovely little family business. We then had our last night of relaxation before waking up once again greeted by our fury friends out the front. All in all, it was a great trip and a perfect refresher only 2 hours away from Sydney!
