Riverside Cabin

Turon Gates is the perfect spot to switch off and reacquaint yourself with Nature. This 6000 acre property is filled with native wildlife, and no shortage of activities to keep busy during your stay.

Turon Gates is a popular spot for fly fishing and horse riding as well. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a mob of kangaroos as the sun was setting over the hills of Capertee. After taking in the sights we started a short drive across the property to our riverside cabin, with plenty of privacy and firewood at hand we were set for the night.

The property is located on what was a popular gold panning site during the late 1800s and the owners are more than happy to provide the equipment for you to go try your luck down by the river. There are also swimming holes and canoe hire for those looking to explore from the water. The cabin is also pet-friendly so be sure to bring your fluffy friend along!

Head to Lithgow, grab a coffee and have a wander through town. The heritage-listed Blast Furnace site in Lithgow gives an interesting look into Australia’s early industrial history.
