A Charming hideaway in the Hills

In search for some down time, a charming cottage in the hills was what I was looking for, and as soon as I drove up the drive way, the shy of relief arrived in my body. Grounding was coming my way.

As I walked onto the porch and looked out to the yard, I could see a fire pit all stacked up, ready for me to light up the night sky later that evening. Welcomed with a platter, I grabbed a couple of olives and decided to wander around the yard with the blossoms on the trees dancing in the faint breeze. Max the friendly grey ground, led the way as I gazed around, looking for the birds singing their song. What a delightful Spring day.

It didn't take me long to discover the pool, and being the water lover I am, I dove straight in. it was crisp but nice, just like the view of the mountains.

The backyard fire went up that evening as much as the joy to my heart.
Inside the cottage was everything I needed. Fluffy towels. Hot shower. And a fully decked out coffee station. I felt I hit the Jackpot big time.

I sat on the porch with Max by my side, sipping my coffee then, shortly after, walked around the Farm introducing myself to the other animals that roamed around. There was a horse, 2 dashhounds, goats, turkeys, geese, and an alpaca that ate apples like my Aunty eats cake!

At the front of the property, I discovered a wooden farm shop all kitted out with local produce from the Farm and locals. The stall was adorned with honey, flowers, lemons, seeds and candles. I paid my way and loaded my arms up with flowers - a sweet gift to myself.

The clouds began to turn grey as they rolled over the hills, so I set off to check out the Maze just down the road. I found my way in and out of the puzzle and finished up in the cafe with a cuppa tea and scone, all made in-house. I spent the afternoon wondering around the gardens, enjoying the blossom trees and the sound of the creek rolling on.

Soft drops of rain began to fall as I arrived back to my hideaway stay. I settled in for the night just like the rain. Toasty fire cracking away. Hot chocolate. And a book. My mind felt at peace. My body felt still. And my heart felt like she was home.
