The sleepy, foggy town of Robertson has many charming sites. The Big Potato, the local takeaway ‘Pizzas in the Mist’, and of course, the lovely Applegarth Cottage.

We arrived at Applegarth just after sunset on a Friday evening. Being the start of winter, the roads were quiet and everything was dark. We quickly made ourselves at home with the fireplace roaring and a glass of red in hand.

The next day we woke up to the lush green trees and 5 acres of misty rolling hills that this property sits on. A quick drive to Bowral included a stop-in at Fermento Bakery and, a bush walk through Gibbergunyah Reserve before it was back to the cottage to light a fire. The five of us (including Lucy the border collie), sat around and kept warm enjoying the tranquility and the crackling of the fire as we watched the sunset.

Applegarth Cottage was the perfect winter escape to warm our souls to the core.
