Dog Friendly Abode with Vintage Charm

My friend Caz and I met up with our pals Bec, Wills, and their two furry companions at the dog bakery before heading to our vintage retreat. And let me tell you, watching those two fluffy pups happily slurp their puppacinos was one of the highlights of our trip!

We arrived that afternoon at our charming getaway, just a stones throw from the beach! A delightful vintage caravan welcomed us in the front yard, surrounded by established olive trees. My excitement was palpable!
As we stepped inside, I felt like Caz, in her sunny yellow dress, was meant to be here. The vintage charm was undeniable—what a charming haven it was! Each of us had our own room, and the best part? Our furry friends were welcome to stay too! The backyard was fully enclosed, boasting a spacious deck, a pool table, and an outdoor cinema. Talk about a jackpot!

Caz whipped up some fruity cocktails while Wills worked his magic on the barbecue. Honestly, is there anything better than barbecued corn?
That night, we gathered around the outdoor fire, sharing stories and laughter beneath a starry sky.

The next morning, Roger woke us all by 7:30 a.m., followed closely by Russell. We lounged in the sun, soaking up the warmth streaming through the windows as we sipped our morning coffee, completely relaxed. Eventually, Caz and I peeled ourselves off the couch for an adventure at No. 16 Beach during low tide.

The iconic Dragon Rock was the main attraction, and yes, it did resemble a dragon! But for us, the real treasure was discovering caves, glittering rocks, and inviting rock pools where we could swim like mermaids. The water was brisk, but it was worth every chill!

We reunited with the rest of our crew at Rye Beach, where dogs were welcome—perfect for my wild mermaid friend, Caz! We spent the afternoon chasing the sun while Roger and Russell chased balls. Guess who was ready for bed early that night?

We settled back into our cozy home away from home for our final night, snuggling under blankets with popcorn and a dog at either end in the outdoor movie area. The night was still, just like us. The movie flew by faster than Peter Pan, just like our stay. Next time, we’ll definitely need more than a couple of nights here!

With full hearts, messy hair, and sun-kissed skin from our adventures in the Mornington Peninsula, we relished the ride. Now, it’s your turn, friends!

Yep! Literally a cafe for dogs! Puppacinos, dog ice cream, even dog beer! It's a tricky place to find though. Drive through the vintage/antique village and find a park. At the very back end of the vintage you will find Miss Drew's Dog Cafe. All ingredients is of course dog friendly and there's a human cafe nearby.

The tourist attraction at Number 16 beach is the Dragon's Head. Although we were there at low tide for the rool pools! We found heaps of sea creatures as well as some caves and rock pools deeper enough to swim in! Great place to explore and looked like a top place to fish too! Beautiful beach.
