Cozy stay full of heart & country air
Adventure in Moss Vale, South Coast, NSW, AU
Being greeted by the local ducks at the watering hole was a warm welcome to the cabin nestled among the wattle blossoms. I stepped onto the deck and peeked inside. Modern. Light. Fresh. With a touch of sweetness about it. It smelled like spring. I brewed myself a cup of tea and sat on the edge of the bed, watching the ducks swim by through the large window. What a view! I could already feel myself easing peacefully into the afternoon.
As dusk fell, I lit the outdoor fire and delighted in a glass of wine as the sun dipped behind the tiny home. It wasn't long before I drifted off to dreamland. The bed was incredibly comfy, for those wondering! The next morning, I drove out to Robertson to explore a vintage emporium I had heard about through the local grapevine. I got a little lost inside, but it didn’t bother me one bit. I was in vintage heaven, baby!
A short drive ahead towards Carrington Falls led me to a natural blue pool that a local had told me about, once a birthing space for the indigenous community. I had to see it for myself! The water only turned blue when the sun hit it, and on that day, the sun made only a brief appearance. I sat by the water’s edge, imagining what it must have been like to give birth right there. It felt spiritual. It felt special. I dipped my toes in the water and gently stepped away from the smooth rock edge. It was fresh and sweet, just like the tiny home.
After a hot shower upon returning to the cabin, I wrapped myself up in a cozy robe. I cooked an early dinner in the open kitchen and watched the horses gallop across the paddock outside the back window. With a full belly and a full heart, I jumped into the luxurious linen bed that I had all to myself—#solotravelperks—and read chapters 7 and 8 of my storybook. My entire being felt at ease.
Rolling out my yoga mat on the deck, I rose with the sun shining its light on the large dam that the local ducks claimed as their own. It was nice that they were happy to share the space with me. I gave thanks to the tiny cabin for keeping me safe and warm during my stay and headed into Moss Vale for brunch at the local Merchant Cafe. It was delightful—just like my stay. And my heart.

Cute, cosy cafe with delicious coffee!
a two story building filled with all things vintage. I could of got lost in here all day and wouldn't of minded one bit!
The natural blue pool (blue when the sunlight hits it!) was once used as a birthing place for the Aboriginal Community so I was told by a local in the nearby town of Robertson. It felt spiritual to me too. Was pretty amazing and yeah.. a little fresh to swim in but oh so worth it! Great spot to explore around too!
