Tiny Maple, Big Adventures

The perfect little escape for an adventure-filled weekend, especially during mid-autumn in beautiful Bright. We arrived at Tiny Maple to a warm welcome of golden leaves and everything we needed for a cozy, fulfilling stay. Though compact, this tiny home has it all—fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, a king-sized bed, peaceful fire pit, and massive windows that let nature pour in.

Our first evening was slow and soothing. We cooked pasta, lit the fire, and watched the last light disappear behind the mountains before curling up in bed, ready for a big day ahead. With the river so close, a crisp morning walk was a must. Rugged up, we wandered the Canyon Walk and grabbed coffee at a local café—easy, beautiful, and the perfect intro to Bright.

The days that followed were packed with bike rides, scenic hikes, coffee stops, and evenings by the fire. Riding to Porepunkah was a highlight, but sunrise at Mount Buffalo’s Horn was on another level—like stepping into a watercolour. The pre-dawn climb was absolutely worth it.

Bright Brewery, just a 10-minute stroll away, was the ideal post-adventure reward. And Tiny Maple? She was everything we’d hoped for: modern, cozy, and effortlessly connected to the outdoors. Think camping vibes, but with all the creature comforts—a warm bed, stargazing by the fire, and a whole lot of autumn magic.

We drove up the mountain before sunrise. Even with the overcast sky, the view was breathtaking—layers of hills fading into each other like a water colour painting. The drive to The Horn is stunning, but the 40-minute climb to the summit is where the magic happens. At the top, you're surrounded by endless hilltops, a 360-degree view that feels like it could stretch on forever.

A must when visiting Bright, ride through the golden leaf lined paths of Bright via the rail trial towards Porpunkah. A relatively easy 30 minute ride with scenic views. If you time it right you can stop at the Porepunkah pub too!
