Tiny Treasure with River Frontage

Oh, I heart Jamieson hardcore! I found myself a tiny getaway with river frontage—all to myself—and it was exactly what this earth-loving solo traveller needed. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely immersed in nature and wrapped in peace.

The tiny home was, as promised, tiny—but every inch of it was filled with heart. A full kitchen with everything I needed, a cosy lounge with books and blankets, heating to keep the mountain chill at bay, and a beautiful bathroom lined with pressed tin walls that gave it a rustic charm.

That evening, as the sun dipped low, I lit the outdoor fire and sat under the sky, wombats shuffling nearby and living their best lives. The night air was crisp, but inside my little haven it was toasty and warm. I made my way up to the lofted bed, soft and generous, in this tiny house made with love.

The next morning, I had a surprise visitor—a kangaroo, basking in the early sun as I ate breakfast on the verandah. The sound of the river flowing nearby stirred my curiosity, so I went exploring. Down by the creek, I took slow breaths, soaking in the final bursts of autumn colour—leaves clinging on like little flames. It felt like the perfect moment to be there.

On my adventures, I always keep an eye out for heart-shaped rocks and fungi—they help me stay grounded and connected. Jamieson didn’t disappoint—nature was full of little love notes waiting to be found.

Later that day, I took a scenic drive into town and followed my instincts to “The Island.” The sun was beaming, the river flowing strong, and the golden leaves shimmered in the afternoon light. I was glowing too—it was one of those days that fills you right up.

That night, I made a warm meal, curled up on the couch, and watched a movie from the sweet little DVD collection in my petite palace. The later check-out the next morning was bliss. I moved slowly, relishing the final hours—hot shower, eggs on toast, book in hand, all wrapped in quiet stillness.

Before leaving, I gave thanks to this tiny treasure I’d called home and hit the road, stopping for a few last photos—especially at the Eildon–Jamieson Lookout. Heck, what a view! Add it to your bucket list, friends. And while you’re there, that tiny home made with heart will be waiting for you, too.

On the property, there's a creek that I spent time down exploring and collecting love heart shaped rocks. Wombats roam around too and seen a few kangaroos. Looks like a wicked good swimming hole too but I ran out of time for a cold plunge!
