Mid-Century Magic in Milton

We arrived at Queen Bee cottage - right in the heart of Milton - on a bright blue skied afternoon. The wraparound verandah felt instantly welcoming - elevated, sunlit, and calm. Whilst being bordered by lush greenery and flowering garden beds, that offered a quiet moment to pause before stepping inside and letting the pace of the world soften.

Inside, wooden floorboards ran throughout, grounding the space with warmth and character. The home was charming, yet it felt like being transported into a curated gallery of vintage collectables, thoughtful artwork, and mid-century furniture inviting slow wandering and quiet appreciation. A playful bumblebee motif appeared throughout, from tea towels to lampshades and mugs, a small detail that made me smile and gently feed my inner child.

Sharing the space with my best friend made it even more special. A grounding, girly weekend of reconnecting and slowing down together. Mornings were sun-filled and unhurried, tea in hand with Cruz (my kelpie) by my side in a space that truly welcomed him. Afternoons drifted between exploring and resting, and evenings settled into calm stillness. We left feeling inspired, grounded, and deeply refreshed. Feeling very grateful for a stay that celebrated connection, creativity, and calm, for humans and dogs alike.

Off-leash dog friendly beach fun! Cruz went swimming, played with his frisbee and made a few doggy friends while we relaxed and soaked up the sun rays.

We wandered around the quaint town of Milton. First stop; breakfast pastries from the famous Heritage Bakery, then organic coffee at Pilgrims Wholefoods. We hunted down treasures from Nikki B;s thrift & gift shop.

Just a short 13 minute drive from Milton, Lake Conjola is a hidden paradise. With crystal clear water, sand dunes leading to national park lands and a boardwalk leading to another dog friendly beach! (SCORE!) There are also dozens of native kangaroos that live on the caravan site.
