Outdoor Baths & Beach Shack Bliss
Adventure in Callala Beach, South Coast, NSW, AU
Entering Callala Beach, we felt instantly disconnected, like stepping into a bubble where the hustle and bustle of the outside world simply didn’t exist. Brother’s Bay shack was full of cosy, homely charm. Our pup was keen to explore the backyard shaded by banksias, while we admired the hot outdoor shower, firepit and clawfoot bath overlooking the gardens.
Our mornings were spent strolling to the beach with a coffee in hand. We ventured to Huskisson via the convenient Husky Ferry from Myola and stopped for lunch at Husky Hotel’s dog-friendly alfresco area, taking in the views across Jervis Bay. While the town was bustling, we opted to escape the crowds and return to Callala Beach where we had quiet stretches of beach all to ourselves and a sunset swim to wrap up the day.
At night, Brother’s Bay truly sparkled, with festoon lighting illuminating the outdoor bathtub, creating a magical atmosphere. Our evenings were spent soaking in the hot tub under the stars, playing board games and challenging one another to chess.
We couldn’t leave without checking out Gosangs Tunnel nearby, where an easy 4km return walk and a crawl through sea cave takes you to a dramatic cliff edge overlooking the ocean. Doggo friendly too.
We left feeling refreshed and recharged after our weekend at Brother’s Bay. The ultimate base for the best of both worlds, close enough to explore all the highlights of Jervis Bay, while still feeling worlds away from the touristy hot spots. A place to disconnect, unwind and appreciate the peaceful moments.

Things We Did
- Swim
- Hike
- Boat
- Pub
Take a dip in the Myola estuary where the Currambene Creek meets the ocean. Calm waters make this a great spot for relaxing and floating around. Epic sunset spot too!
This 4km return hike is unique because of its crawl through sea cave which takes you to a dramatic, unprotected cliff edge overlooking the ocean and the Beecroft Peninsula. Easy, dog friendly walk starting at Abrahams Bosom Reserve, with the only challenging section being the short 20m crawl through the tunnel.
Catch the Husky Ferry between Myola and Huskisson. If you're staying in Myola or Callala Beach jump on the ferry and head to Husky for lunch. Or if you're staying in Huskisson, catch the ferry North and relax on the calm Currambene Creek beach to escape the crowds. $15 pp/each way and dogs are free.
Enjoy a good ol' pub lunch, dinner or just a cheeky cocktail at the Huskisson Hotel. Heaps of indoor & outdoor seating overlooking the ocean, with a whole deck and garden patio where dogs are also welcome.
