Silent Night, Tram Alight

Upon arrival, the carriage feels warm and intimate. From the puzzles and games corner to the cosy campfire, daily entertainment from the resident chickens and an upcycled playground, there are plenty of ways to unplug and reconnect.

In the early evening, the campfire crackles quietly in the countryside. No traffic, only stars. We sit by the fire, wrapped in blankets with wine, cheese and fresh oysters.

Cooking comes easily in the kitchen, with a portable cooktop and BBQ. We gather at the dining table to eat, noticing the seats are the originals, once used by Melbourne commuters.

After a peaceful and comfortable night’s sleep, soft light spills through the windows as the chickens begin their gentle chorus. We wake not just rested, but reset.

Fresh beans are ready in the coffee machine, and we sit out on the deck, taking in the crisp country air before easing into the day’s adventures.

Only a 25 min drive from the property, the trail offers a beautiful sea breeze, natives and mesmerising coastal cliffs. The walk is 7km one way, typically taking 2-3 hours to complete. A must down while down the coast!

Kongwak Market (15 minute drive) hosts warm locals, fresh produce, collectables, vintage and retro clothing. The market was buzzing and is only open on Sundays.

Just a short 9-minute drive from the Carriage to this intimate Brewery. The Gin and Beer tasting paddles were a beautiful afternoon treat!
