A coastal retreat with lush tropical charm
Adventure in Burrill Lake, South Coast, NSW, AU
Tucked away just moments from the shoreline, this little bungalow feels worlds away — like you’ve stumbled into a hidden oasis.
Surrounded by swaying palms, the space invites you to slow down the moment you arrive. But before checking- in, we made a quick detour to Burrill Lake where we stopped off for a Stand-Up Paddle. Just a hop, skip and a Jump from the Bungalow.
Post-paddle hunger led us straight to Lagom Bakery and honestly, this spot alone is worth the trip. Think golden toasties, fresh-baked bread, and pastries.
Back at the bungalow, the real magic began. The outdoor bath, tucked beneath the palms, quickly became the hero of the stay (and the outdoor fireplace).
Inside, the bungalow had everything. Soft textures, thoughtful touches, and all the essentials for a seamless weekend away. It’s the kind of place that makes staying in feel just as exciting as heading out.
That said, one evening we couldn’t resist venturing to Bannisters by the Sea. A local favourite for a reason. Cocktails in hand, pizza on the table and ocean views. It was the perfect way to round out the day.
But what truly elevated the stay was the experiences offered by the host (available to book at an additional fee). I had the chance to unwind with an on-site massage and a gentle yoga session. It’s one thing to escape, but it’s another to feel fully restored. This thoughtful addition turns a beautiful stay into something genuinely special.
