Karak Eco Lodge is one of those rare places that feels effortlessly complete - a peaceful, thoughtfully designed escape set against sweeping valley views.

My friend Lauren and I spent a couple of slow, sun-filled days making the most of the deck and warm weather. Afternoons were for lounging in the suspended net hammock with a good book, sipping on local Delatite wine and grazing on some nibbles while watching the cows wander by, and soaking in the outdoor bath as the sun set. As night settled in, we moved to the fire pit for some cosy chats, then curled up inside by the fireplace while watching some classic movies.

Mornings were just as special. We woke to soft fog rolling across the valley and couldn’t help but step straight outside, cuppa in hand, to take it all in. While the views and deck are a highlight, the interior deserves just as much praise - it is beautifully detailed, incredibly comfortable, and eco-friendly, with little touches like plush robes that made it feel extra indulgent.

We were also treated with one of the lodge’s add-ons: a golden hour massage on the deck, followed by a luxurious foot soak. Talk about pure relaxation!

In between unwinding at Karak, we explored the surrounding area, visiting Acheron Cutting Lookout, wandering the Friends Nature Trail in Cathedral State Park, and stopping by Delatite Winery for a wine tasting with a view.

Karak Eco Lodge is more than just a place to stay - it’s an immersive, restorative experience in nature, with so much care and intention behind every detail. It’s somewhere we’d return to in a heartbeat!
