An Ocean View Oasis
Adventure in Merewether, Central Coast, NSW, AU
Imagine waking to the soothing sound of the ocean, with no plans for the day and an incredible view of the sunrise over the water from your kitchen window or front balcony.
Our stay at Merewether Beach Shack gave us the chance to slow down, unwind, and truly appreciate our surroundings. We'd start each morning with a coffee before stepping straight onto the beach. During the cooler months, you might even spot whales passing by from the shoreline — and we were lucky enough to see a few during our stay.
The shack itself is packed with personality, with a fun retro beach vibe that instantly makes you feel like you're on holiday. Thoughtfully styled from top to bottom, it's filled with charming details, coastal touches, and plenty of character. It feels like the kind of classic Australian beach shack you grew up dreaming about, but with all the modern comforts that make it easy to settle in and stay awhile.
Merewether offers the perfect balance of nature and convenience. You can spend your mornings exploring the coastline and your afternoons enjoying great coffee, local cafés, or a meal at the nearby pub. We took a short drive to Nobbys Lighthouse for a scenic morning walk, followed by a stop at Ronnie Watts Lookout. Another highlight was the Yuelarbah Track, just eight minutes from the house, which provided a beautiful way to start the day immersed in nature.

Morning walk along Nobbys Beach to see Nobbys Lighthouse. I beautiful walk, and a great way to start the day, or end it.
With only a short drive from the property we stopped at the Ronnie Watts Lookout to take in the surrounding beach and views.
Located on top of The Beach Hotel is a wonderful spot for an afternoon drink called Peregrin. It has an incredible view of Merewether Beach, and a short walk from the property.
Scenic walk via the Yuelarbah Walking Track which showcases beautiful waterfalls, wildlife, and an incredible look out of Glenrock Lagoon.
Explored our doorstep with stunning views of Merewether Beach, and Ocean Pools. Used the provided binoculars to search for Whales.
