Treehouse Tranquillity by the Water
Adventure in Nungurner, Gippsland, VIC, AU
Redwood Treehouse felt like a childhood cubby house dream come to life. Tucked among the trees in a quiet street near Lakes Entrance, this rustic hideaway is a mixture of European ski chalet and cute cottage vibes, surrounded by lush gardens, outdoor decks on every level and a little beach just around the corner.
We spent our first morning wandering the Metung boardwalk and stopping for coffee at one of the local cafés before making our way to the Metung Hot Springs for a slow afternoon of soaking in the natural thermal pools and relaxing in the over-water sauna. This is a must do experience if you want to feel rejuvenated!
The evenings were our favourite. Back at the Treehouse we gathered around the outdoor fire pit until the sky turned dark. Then moved inside to play board games and cuddle up with our dog around the indoor wood fire place. There was something wonderfully simple about being tucked away together, away from the usual routine.
On our final morning, we walked the esplanade at Lakes Entrance and explored the Old East Gippsland Rail Trail and its historic trestle bridges before heading home.
We left feeling completely refreshed, connected and a little reluctant to return to reality—a reminder that sometimes the best escapes are the ones that simply let you slow down together.
