Arriving at Margaret by boat felt like stepping into another world. Tucked away at Milsons Passage on the Hawkesbury River, this 120 year old weatherboard cottage was full of character, history and charm.
Surrounded by water and bushland, the sense of seclusion was instant. It felt almost cinematic, like we had wandered onto the set of an old Australian film.
Inside, the record player spun classic hits as we settled into the slow rhythm of riverside life. We took the kayak out onto the water, explored the shoreline and spent long stretches simply doing nothing.
The interiors were filled with natural light, with every corner revealing something thoughtfully curated, from artwork to charming sailing ship figurines. Coastal, riverside touches flowed throughout the design, creating a space that felt both nostalgic and welcoming.
Margaret has a way of making you slow down, in the very best possible way. It was peaceful, nostalgic and completely unforgettable.
