Peaceful Lakeside Escape

We pulled up to the Glenmaggie Lakehouse on a warm, sunny afternoon — and the moment we stepped inside, it already felt like home. Light-filled rooms, a fully stocked kitchen, the crackle of an indoor fireplace waiting for us. It was the kind of place that quietly tells you to slow down, and so we did.

That first evening, we dragged our chairs out to the veranda, lit the outdoor firepit, and just sat there — no scrolling, no noise, just a clear sky filling up with stars and the soft sound of the breeze moving through the trees. Time felt completely irrelevant.

Morning arrived with birdsong. We brewed coffee and sipped it slowly on the veranda, watching birds weave through the canopy around the property. Then came the joy of cooking breakfast in a big, open kitchen before settling into the lounge by the indoor fire — TV on, nowhere to be, nothing to rush.

Our afternoons were spent out exploring — walking the cinematic Glenmaggie Road Bridge with the lake spreading wide below us, laying out a fruit platter by the lake shore, hiking the rugged off-road track up to Pearsons Point Lookout, and strolling the quiet edge at Glenmaggie Point.

By the time we packed the car to leave, something in us had genuinely reset. Two nights here does something to you — it quiets the noise of everyday life and reminds you what stillness feels like. For families, couples, or anyone who needs a proper exhale — this is your place.

A quiet lakeside walk along the water's edge to a pointed peninsula — serene, tucked away, and totally worth it.
