Upon our entrance to Bawley Ridge Farmhouse, we were met with the scent of freshly baked bread which was resting in a basket on the kitchen counter along with eggs, butter, honey and wine. We were already peckish from our travels so immediately felt the need to tuck in, it was such a delight to have goodies on arrival that were made and gifted with love.
Exploring the grounds and spotting the different animals was our daughter's favourite thing to do, pointing to the Alpacas and Peacocks became a regular activity.
After putting our little one to bed, we enjoyed a quiet dinner together and had some wine in front of the fire. It was a cold night and it was so cosy and comfortable curled up next to the rustic fireplace.
Our next day started off at Luci's café, where we were treated to an array of delicious brunch meals before heading off to Bateman's Bay for a stroll along the promenade with some much-needed ice-cream.
After heading back to Bawley Ridge, taking a bath in the outdoor tub truly was a chance for my mind to breathe after a couple of hectic weeks, nothing to focus on but birdsong and the calm forest outlook.
On our final morning we had our coffee on the deck, one of our favourite spots on the property with views across the forest all the way to the ocean. We then headed out to the Murramarang Aboriginal Area Track, where there were so many beautiful wildflowers and views of the coast.
Our time at Bawley Ridge was filled with family memories, a special time shared with our little daughter in nature that we'll never forget.
A highlight of visiting the Bawley Point area was doing this hike, there were so many gorgeous views of the coastline and wildflowers blooming in Spring.
We spotted different types of wildlife, including two red-belly black snakes, (make sure to wear appropriate footwear and be cautious of where you're walking in warmer weather!) We also spotted some beautiful birds and a kangaroo with a joey in her pouch. Our daughter was in awe of the sights and sounds along this track and we'd highly recommend it, especially for families as the path is fairly flat.
Brunch at Luci's was a delight! The chicken smash bagel was a favourite with us, and our little one loved her eggs on toast with cut fruit. The outdoor setting was lovely especially on a sunny day and the coffee was also superb - we'll be back!
Treating our little one to her first ice-cream here would have to be a core memory! It's safe to say that rainbow is her favourite.
There were so many different delicious flavours, (highly recommend the Anzac Biscuit one!) To top it off, we followed it up with a walk along the Bateman's Bay Promenade - a wonderful way to spend the afternoon!
