Comfort & Calm in the Bush

We were unsure what to expect when we pulled up at the Congo Camp House. Immediately, we were struck by the clean lines and well-thought-out floor plan. The design felt spacious yet cosy and inviting.

We could have easily spent our stay just appreciating the quiet forest which the house seems to sprout from. Constructed using recycled timbers and repurposed windows, while the local wildlife comes right up to your door.

After waking to the sound of the ocean, a short drive brought us to the dramatic coastline of the Eurobodalla National Park. There we had the beaches, cool water and rock pools all to ourselves.

We left feeling fulfilled and connected. Every evening, we’d gaze at the stars until our necks were sore, and every morning, we’d awake feeling peaceful and refreshed. This idyllic, dreamy little home was just what we needed to slow right down and appreciate the little things.

Arguably the best thing about the Camp House is your ability to lay down your book or wake up from a post-lunch nap and visit the many beaches of the Eurobodalla National Park - the closest being 4 minutes, door to sand....

Staying at the Camp House poses a great opportunity for hiking - notably the Bingi Dreaming Track. The track stretches along 13kms of this pristine coastline, with stunning views and some great places to spot whales and other wildlife. If a whole day hike is little too much for you (it was for us coming into Summer) it's still definitely worth driving out to the beaches and doing a smaller portion of the track....
The land that the Camp House itself is on is perfect for long nights by the fire and gazing at the night sky. We certainly spent a lot of our evenings doing this until our necks were sore (a wiser version of me would have brought something to lay on)....
