There’s something really special about staying in Avonside Alpine Estate. Breathing in some fresh air, being surrounded by animals and marvel the mist rise to reveal a tranquil vista of a magical farm & rolling hill. It’s like we can finally channel our inner child where joy and the feeling of wonder is the only thing that matter.

It was a light shower & foggy when we arrived but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Imagine yourself entering a mystical farm above the cloud, the stillness immediately transports us to a serene and peaceful setting of farm life. The home itself is modern and completely off-grid. There were 3 bedroom cabin, a toilet on each floor, and a spacious living room with an indoor fireplace that simply became our favourite spot to spend the rainy day and watching the cows grazing away while we sip freshly house-roasted coffee. A perfect home away from home for busy urbanites who want a taste of country life without sacrificing modern luxury.

A sprawling 130 acres of land, this organic & permaculture practices farm run by a family of Olivier & Jacquie is undoubtedly like no other. We feel like a local farmer during our stay, with the chance to get up close and interact with the animals. Feeding the enchanting highland cattle, babydoll sheep, geese, chickens and local kangaroo regularly roam around the estate. Let alone look forward to seeing them every day, it was beyond surreal and therapeutic.

For the keen explorer, this area is blessed with alpine adventure. We went hiking to the Blue Lake and the main range track at the Kosciuszko National Park, It was moody weather but there’s something really soothing to walk in the mute white fog, witnessing clarity beyond the mist, and reach a deeper feeling of nature around us.
