Culburra Beach Weekender
Adventure in Culburra Beach, South Coast, NSW, AU
A few hours drive from Sydney is all it takes to feel like you have found the perfect beach getaway.
Silvermere Coastal Retreat is best enjoyed with family and friends. Located just a short scenic stroll away from Culburra Beach, it's the ideal spot to base and enjoy the beach and surrounds.
The adventurous ones can explore nearby Beecroft Peninsula for epic cliff-top bush walks and hidden beaches along the track to Mermaid Inlet, while the foodies can discover local cafés in town or breweries in nearby Huskisson.
Be sure to take the scenic route out of Nowra, where you'll come across lush farmlands and hidden cafés and antique shops around Pyree before popping out by the ocean.
No matter what your day involves, at the end of it all, gather around the large outdoor fire pit with a couple bottles of red where you can easily spend the best part of the evening.

Have you ever actually found the end of a rainbow? There was a silver lining on our first evening as we were greeted by rain. From the balcony of Silvermere Coastal Retreat, we saw the sky light up for sunset over the beach. One street away is the beach access next to Wollumboola Lake, where we found the pot of gold right there on the sand.
Wander down to Culburra Beach or Penguin Head to watch the sunrise. You might score a wave or see a whale during the Winter months.
Kick off your day in town with a coffee from Frankie's Coffee Van. The non-for profit business donates all profits to the Shoalhaven Animal Shelter. It's also an epic outdoor space to chill out and meet the locals.
Beecroft Peninsula, just South of Culburra Beach, is the perfect location for coastal walks. A half hour hike along the Northern shoreline leads you to Mermaid Inlet where you can enjoy ocean views from the cliffs and crawl through Gosangs Tunnel if you don't mind the squeeze.

After an hour or two of hiking, jump in the ocean at Abrahams Bosom Beach. There's no better way to freshen up.
After a day of adventure, head to Jervis Bay Brewing Co. Taste the local selection of beers and grab a much-needed bite to eat. The beer garden is the perfect spot to enjoy the late afternoon sun.
Ride around town on bicycles provided by your hosts. It's the easiest way to see the beach, duck out for lunch and check out the surrounding area.

During the winter months, try your luck spotting whales as they cruise past the coast. A short walk out along the point to Crookhaven Lighthouse is the perfect spot to do so.
On your way to or from Culburra, take the scenic route through Pyree. Stop for lunch at Greendale's Café, browse antiques and stop off along the way to check out cattle, sheep and camels.
