The Dacha Bath House
Adventure in Jingera, Snowy Mountains, NSW, AU
Nestled deep in the Snowy Monaro region of Jingera, the Russian dacha of Lynton's farm provided a grounding and off grid sanctuary for ourselves and our Rottweiler, Reuben.
We arrived in the evening to a beautifully warm cottage thanks to a pre-fired house heating system - a fireplace and a wood-fired stove that triples as an oven, and a hydronic floor heating system that kept us cosy for our entire stay. Once settled in, we slipped into the gorgeous bath and let our minds unwind to the twinkles of the stars above.
The next morning was more of an adventure for our pup. The freedom he had on this walk around the whole farm is something he'd never experienced. He finally had the space to run to his heart's desire, chase curious kangaroos at sunrise, and explore new environments wherever his nose took him. He was the happiest and most tired we'd ever seen him.
After visiting the National Park, we spent the rest of the day tending to the wood-fired stove - making the most of the heat with a delicious oven roasted osso bucco, and of course another bath.
Coming from Sydney, we saw the location of this property as a perfect stopover for a wind down before hitting the slopes in the Snowy Mountains. Just 2 hours more to Jindabyne, we could wake up for a stunning sunrise before driving down and having a full day snowboarding and skiing the best snow Australia has to offer....

Things We Did
- Hike
- Snow
Tucked away in Deua NP through beautiful bush plains and a river crossing we came across the Big Hole, a 400million old chasm now used from time to time by the military for abseiling exercises. Feeling adventurous, we continued along the track to the Marble Arch, a total 5 hr walk return to take in the gorgeous caves and flowing canyon systems Deua had to offer....
