Beachside Cottage Retreat
Adventure in Mount Eliza, Mornington Peninsula, VIC, AU
A weekend escape without all the travel. Mt Eliza is the perfect location for escaping on a Friday after work and still making it in time for sunset. The accommodation is ideally situated 100m from the beach, so pack your sandals and the esky and bring the pooch as well, as it's pet friendly!
The cottage itself is beautifully well presented, with double French doors open up to the afternoon light, filling the open living areas with a warm glow. Relax on the couch, put your feet up and breathe in the fresh ocean air. There is a fully equipped kitchen where you can cook up a storm if you so desire and a bedroom located in the loft upstairs.
Our wonderful hosts were so welcoming and accommodating, with local tips and recommendations. They also gave us a tour around the property, filling our basket with a sprawling array of homegrown herbs and veggies.
We spent much of our time making the most of our accommodation, the nearby beach and settled in on Saturday evening by the fire pit. We visited a local café for breakfast, strolled through lush parklands in the afternoon and let loose at the dog beach. We made sure to squeeze in a little trip to Red Hill to sip some delicious wine at Main Ridge Estate, accompanied by paired cheeses and some warm sunset light.
There is much more to explore along the Mornington Peninsula, we'll most definitely be back to uncover more treasures and the Beachside Cottage is the perfect base....
